10 inch cabinets are really nice to neatly install a home network. I'm currently working on integrating a 1-wire network next to the ethernet network in my home, for temperature measurements and home automation.
Although there are some 1-wire hubs to choose from on the market, there isn't one available which fits in a 10 inch cabinet, so I decided to build one myself.
For this project I bought an digitus 8-port patchpanel. These patchpanels have an pcb internally which can be easily replaced with a custom designed one. I even reused the RJ45 pcb connectors.
On the pictures the front USB and 7 1-wire channels can be seen. While designing I used the schematic posted on hobbyboards for the 6 Channel Masture Hub. The only addition I did is a ftdichip FT232R in order to interface the hub over USB. If you're planning on doing something using 1-wire I can most certainly recommend looking into their products (hobbyboards)
